Duration: 5 days (full-day sessions) OR Weekend/Evening sessions

Training Overview: Force.com Integrations covers the key elements of how to design and build all types of integrations with the Force.com cloud platform. The first day touches on the major methods of integration with Force.com and demonstrates multiple techniques for those methods. In the remaining days, participants explore the specifics of each technology that plays a role in integrating with the platform, such as Force.com Web services, sites, and portals.

This course is ideal for independent software vendors (ISVs), customer developers, and system integrators wishing to learn how to design and build integrations with Force.com cloud platform

Location and Pricing: Most of our courses are conducted online OR at our training facility and are customized to meet our students needs. We also provide customized onsite training at our clients' locations. Pricing for an online course depends on if its a weekend/evening course or a full day course. The weekend/evening courses are most cost-effective as they are spread over a period of weeks giving you ample time to complete the hands-on exercises. Training Prerequisites: It is not necessary to be a Force.com developer to take this course; however, we recommend that participants be familiar with the Force.com platform and proficient in an object-oriented programming language such as Java or C#.

Training format: This class is 50% hands-on, 50% lecture, with one-on-one dedicated time-slots with the instructor.

Training Materials: All students receive a copy of related courseware / material.

  • The Force.com data loader, the free prebuilt API client, & information about when to use the data loader vs. build/buy
  • Middleware/AppExchange solutions, including advantages & connectivity via the Web services API
  • Call center integration & multichannel integration (e.g., chat, email)
  • Single sign-on integration & architecture options
  • Web site integration with Force.com sites, portals, and salesforce.com’s ideas
  • Characteristics of the Web services API, including SOAP, WSDL, SSL standards, security models, & a typical API client architecture
  • Nouns, verbs, & standards
  • SOQL & SOSL
  • Development steps, including creating a project, generating proxy classes, & custom development
  • Working within the API constraints
  • Debugging & testing
  • Working with the partner WSDL
  • Additional API techniques such as multi-threading, concurrent sessions, & the wrapper class
